    Motley baseball
Hi, all. The annual motley baseball party is back by popular demand ! We will be playing this Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Newell Park . Bring beverages, sun screen, and gloves if you got em. We have one bat and a couple baseballs. This is for fun and amusement, no actual talent is required ! Last year was a blast. None of us were particularly athletic, but we still were not the most pathetic people at the park. Yay ! Afterward, off to a local watering hole for some drinks and food.

    Pirate movies......
I love a good Pirate film. However, as it turns out, I've seen very few. The best one I've seen is "Captain Blood" starring Errol Flynn. Other good ones include, "Treasure Island" (the Disney one form the 50's), "Pirates of the Caribbean" with Johnny Depp, and I also dig "Princess Bride" (It's kinda about a pirate, even though you never see the actual ship or crew.) I'm curious if you have any recommendations. What's your favorite pirate flick ?

So, Nicholay and I don't watch much TV. We have a good movie collection, and occasionally will watch a television series on DVD, but as far as just turning on the tube and watching whats on, not so much. Last night the TV was on and we watched for a little while, frequently switching channels to try to find something of interest. My question is this. When did mentally handicapped folks become such a huge target market ? Everything on was retarded !

    Halloween is upon us !!
I realize that I'm a freak and that Halloween proper is still a couple months off, But for me it started last night. I so enjoy Halloween that I tend to get into the spirit a bit early. (hey some folks can do Christmas stuff from Thanksgiving to New Years. Why can't I have a couple months of Halloween ?)At any rate, Halloween starts for me one of three ways. One: If I go to the State Fair and visit the haunted house, Halloween has begun. Two: if I go to Ren Fest and see the ads for their Halloween thing. The third default if I miss both of those is when I spot the first Halloween merchandise in a store. #3 usually doesn't happen until after #s two or three, but I spotted my first spooky thing in a store yesterday. Time to celebrate !!!

    Voting......
I thought of this great idea on how our democratic process should work. For pretty much any public office it comes down to the choice of some democrat or some republican. (occasionally there is an independent or something, but he rarely wins.)So, a certain number of people will vote for the democrat and a certain number of people will vote for the republican, and a certain number of people will not vote. The people that don't vote should be counted as literally voting for nobody. So, if the non votes outnumber the votes for the two official candidates, that office is closed and no longer funded with our tax money ! If folks feel that closing has left a void that we can't live without they'll be welcome to run for it again next election of course. I'm not sure how this would work logistically, but I think it's a cool concept.

    Big rock show tonight......
The Danger Board at 1st Ave with All the Pretty Horses... Incidentally, Does anyone have a functioning guitar amp they'd be willing to lend me for the evening ? Equipment and personnel are supposed to arrive at 1st Ave around 5:00. I'm stuck at work in Plymouth til then. If you aren't able to meet us there at that time, Nicholay or Jarrin J. Jarrinson may be able to pick it up. Thanks.

    Interesting evening......
As you may have heard, Gordon Globe broke up in a bit of a meltdown some time ago. Tonight the three of us got together for the first time since then. I felt it important to go because because I really wanted to reconnect with my old band mates. We jammed, played some of our old songs and drank a great deal of wine. inevitably the subject of reforming came up. I've always loved my G.G. pals, liked the tunes and generally had a great time being involved with the group. However, with some difficulty I had to decline. My first instinct is to go with the group and make everyone happy, especially if it means playing some rock & roll. Never before have I been the one to bow out of a band I've been in, but there were good reasons I think. The group split under such stupid circumstance. The bickering and the breakup that ensued was totally irrational. I'm not sure I want to return to the same situation again. Also, while yes, I did dig it at the time it always felt like it was someone else' deal and I just played along. As a guitarist I'm happy with The Danger Board. I feel like the four of us are kind of on the same page musically, (Even Though we don't necessarily have the exact same taste) and I feel I have a bit more creative input. As a drummer, I have new ambitions. Nicholay and I have long talked about getting a new group together. (We're a hell of of a rythm section !)I feel a little remorseful being the one to shoot down the reunion of what I think was a pretty good band, but I think it is time to move forward. So, who got the new Harry Potter book ? I'm only on chapter 11, but I'm enjoying it so far !
